The Shaheen Sports Festival began on Sunday, 16 December 2012, under auspices of Shaheen FC at Govt High School Ground in Sheikhupura.
A total of 16 football clubs from various parts of Punjab are taking part in the event. The first day saw result of 3 games.
Muslim Sports FC (Sheikhupura) beat Young Star (Sharaqpur) 3-1 in first game. Usman, Yasir, and captain Kashan scored for Muslim Sports while only Shafique could respond for Young Star which also included players from Young Ravi FC.
The second game saw Jhabran FC were beaten 2-0 by Shaheen FC (Manawala) with both goals from Asad.
The third game saw Young Start (Sukheki) beat Ravi FC (Lahore) on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Younas scored for Ravi in 1st half, before Young Start got an equaliser in 2nd half via a Ravi own-goal. In penalties, the Sukheki side held their nerve to win 3-0.
On 17 December, two games will be played. Shaheen FC’s Red team will face Nathowala Sports while Warburton FC face Mujahid FC (Farooqabad).
