KARACHI: Habib Bank Limited (HBL) held Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to a goalless draw in their match of the 9th Pakistan Premier Football League here at the Korangi Baloch Football Ground in Sharafi Goth on Sunday, 30 September 2012.
“We have been plagued by injuries to our key players,” PIA coach Shamim Khan told ‘The News’.
“Shakir Lashari and Mohammad Haji were not playing. Our key player Ali Adeem Shehzad was also missing because he had developed a fracture in his hand during practice the other day and skipper Nasrullah is also playing on fifty percent fitness,” he said.
“In such a situation when your key players are not playing it becomes very difficult to perform well,” said Shamim. Habib Bank coach Yousuf blamed the referee for the result.
The single point inflated PIA’s tally to 12 from eight meetings, while HBL moved to six points from 10 appearances.
Both PIA and HBL will now move to Lahore on Tuesday (tomorrow) for their away matches in Punjab and Islamabad.
Today’s fixture: WAPDA v ZTBL (Railways Stadium, Lahore).
