KARACHI: Punjab topped Group C when they held Army to a goalless draw while National Youth Team (Pakistan U16/17) held Sindh to a 1-1 draw to emerge as Group B leaders at the Dring Stadium in Bahawalpur on Wednesday as the National Under-22 Football Championship entered the quarter-finals stage.
Wohaib’s goal for Sindh was short-lived as National Youth’s Riaz immediately responded with a goal of his own.
At the end of group stage, from Group A, PMC Athletico and Karachi Port Trust (KPT) qualified for the quarter-finals while from Group B National Youth and Sindh moved into the last eight stage.
Punjab and Army from Group C and Chaman’s Muslim FC and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Group D also blasted their way into the quarter-finals.
