Karachi United hold Korangi Baloch in KFL Super League

Karachi United Football Club (KUFC) came from 0-1 down at half time to draw against Korangi Baloch Sharafi 1-1 under floodlights at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi on Wednesday, 11 April 2012.

The 9th Karachi Football League (KFL) 2011-12. 17 match of Super League began with frantic pace as the KUFC laid siege to Korangi Baloch’s goal.

KUFC strikers Rehan Munir, Kareem Kerai, Usman Iqbal and Benedict Plant came close to scoring but the opposition’s goal keeper Abdul Rahman held them at bay.

However, Korangi Baloch took lead in the 39th minute when defender Moiz Salahuddin not clear the ball sufficiently in the box, Captain and striker of opposing team Abdul Hafeez’s received the ball and gave his side an unlikely 1-0 lead before half time as Kareem Kerai’s shot hit the crossbar just before the whistle.

Karachi United had to fight hard for the rest of the game and eventually found an equalizer in the 65th minute when a superb winger Sajjad Ali (Carlos) cross found Top Scorer Rehan Munir (15 goals) who make it 1-1. The scoreline remained same till final whistle with both team earning a point each.

Table topper Korangi Baloch have 9 points from 6 games while Karachi United have 5 points from 3 games. The match supervised by referees Habibullah, Babar Khan and Saleem Babar and Match Commissioner was Abdul Karim.
