Burma Mohammadan (Korangi) opened the 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 Super League round with a closely-fought 2-1 win over Karachi District South champions Kalri Star (Lyari) today 26 Feb 2012.
Burma Mohammadan had already beaten Kalri Star 1-0 during the KUFL group stage at KMC Stadium back on 12 Dec 2011, and this win today at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi, Karachi saw similar result.
Kalri Star started the game brightly and attempted to score, but they faced a firm Burma Mohammadan defence. After sustaining early pressure, Burma Mohammadan tried to counter-attack but Kalri Star goalkeeper Assam Baloch denied them as the score remained a tight 0-0 at half-time.
In 2nd half, the match pace intensified as Kalri Star took the 1-0 lead as Shaheen Baloch scored from a Farid Baloch pass in 57th minute. Burma Mohammadan immediately responded in next minute as a cross from Muhammad Imran was put into the net by Abdul Rahim to make it 1-1. Abdul Rahim then scored again to make it 2-1 for Burma Mohammadan in 65th minute as he scored from a Muhammad Jaffar cross. The goal proved to be decisive for Burma Mohammadan as they held on to a precious win and 3 points in the bag at the end.
Referees were Saad Khan, Javed Bangash, Ahmed Mian, Babar Khan, and match commissioner H.M.Hanif.
The KUFL Super League round was inaugurated by M.M.Ghalib, Director of Hira School & College in Buner District (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), as chief guest for the game. Mr Ghalib also gave a Rs 10 thousand cash prize to the KUFL organising secretary for organising such a splendid event.

On Tuesday, 28 Feb 2012, FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) face Irfan Memorial (Landhi) at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi, Karachi.
