Janbaz Sports (Sultanabad) held a strong Dilbod Mohammadan (Malir) side to a 1-1 draw and earned its first point in the 2012 All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League yesterday, 23 Feb 2012, at Jam Stadium in Malir (Karachi).
In a closely fought encounter, Dilbod Mohammadan took the lead when Allah Bakhsh and Muhammad Mohsin combined well to allow Mohsin to score and make it 1-0 in 35th minute. Janbaz Sports almost equalised in 39th minute but Umar Farooq failed to beat Dilbod goalie Muhammad Hashim. Dilbod almost went 2-0 ahead in 42nd minute when Abdul Sattar failed to beat Janbaz goalie Rafiullah as his side led 1-0 at half time.
In 2nd half, Janbaz Sports fought hard to equalise the scores with Umar Farooq and Saif Ullah coming close. Finally, substitute Fasih Ullah headed home a Saeed Ahmed cross in 64th minute to make it 1-1. The scores remained same in the end as both sides earned a point each and completed 5 games. Dilbod Mohammadan are on 8 points while Janbaz Sports finally came to 1 point. Both sides now face Young Tughlaq (Lyari) in their final group games on 25 Feb (Janbaz) and 28 Feb (Dilbod).

Karachi DFRA West suspended 3 referees for poor performance in a local tournament. Referees Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Rizwan, and Imam Bakhsh were axed for poorly officiating a match between Hassan Auliya FC and Deen Islam FC in the All-Karachi Anwar Ali Mullah Shaheed Football Tournament being hosted by Awami Sports (Baldia Town).
DFRA West secretary Sameen Khan announced that referee Noor Muhammad and assistant M Rizwan were suspended for a month each (22 Feb to 22 March 2012) and Imam Bakhsh for 15 days (22 Feb to 7 March 2012). The suspension notice has been circulated to the said district.
