The 2012 All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League saw home side Jam XI (Malir) easily beat Sindh Muslim (Gizri) 2-0 at Jam Stadium in Malir, Karachi today 1 Feb 2012. The Group B clash between the two sides saw Jam XI gain 3 points for the win thanks to goals from Aamir Hasan and Jamal Jalal.
Jam XI eased into a 2-0 lead in first half as they dominated Sindh Muslim from the start. Jam XI strikers Imdad Murad, Arif Hameed, Jamal Jalal, and Aamir Hasan put the Sindh Muslim defence into a lot of trouble. In 9th minute, a superb Imdad Murad pass saw Amir Hasan score past Sindh Muslim goalkeeper Abdul Hameed, making it 1-0 to Jam XI. 11 minutes later, the impressive Arif Hameed played a superb cross that was converted into a goal by Jamal Jalal, giving Jam XI a deserving 2-0 lead as half time approached.
The 2nd half saw Sindh Muslim play significantly better but their strikers Sohail Allah Bakhsh, Shafi Kaka, Nauman, and Nasir failed to score from the passed provided by their midfielders Abdul Hameed Jr., Khalid Mir, and captain Shahid Mir. The Jam XI defence of Ibrahim Baloch, Yasir Qasim, Adnan Imam, Shahjahan Bashir, and goalkeepr Arshad Hussain held firm as they maintained their 2-0 lead right till the end.
Referees were Khalid Mumtaz Jami, M Umar, Babar Khan, Abdul Basit, and match commissioner Abdul Karim. DFA Malir secretary Shahid Taj awarded a Rs 500 Man of the Match cash prize to Jam XI striker Arif Hameed for his splendid performance after the end of the game.
On Friday, 3 Feb 2012, Burma Mohammadan (Korangi) face Janbaz Sports (DFA West).
