The 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 saw venue hosts Baloch Mujahid hammer bottom club Gulshan Soccer 3-0 yesterday 17 January 2012 in their Group ‘B’ clash.
The scoreline was harsh on DFA Central champions Gulshan Soccer who played splendidly but had only themselves to blame for missing chance after chance at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. Baloch Mujahid’s veteran winger Muhammad Hanif was star of the show as he provided assists for all three goals in the game.
Gulshan Soccer started the game brightly with Ali Abidi, Abdullah Bashar, Adam Jee, Mehmood Shah, and Kashif Zafar combining well but failing to find the target. Baloch Mujahid’s defence of Nabi Bakhsh, Muhammad Nawaz, Salal Raza, and goalkeeper Shehzad Ali held firm in opening exchanges. Baloch Mujahid’s patience paid off when a brilliant cross from M Hanif was easily converted by veteran striker Taj Muhammad in 33rd minute to make it 1-0 for the hosts as they ran down the clock to half-time comfortable with their lead.
In 2nd half, Gulshan Soccer attempted to make amends but once again failed to convert their chances as Baloch Mujahid maintained their grip. M Hanif was in devastating form as his 2 further crosses allowed Muhammad Nadeem and Yasin Ali to score past Gulshan goalie Utaiba Sabir in 76th and 88th minutes respectively as Baloch Mujahid went 3-0 up at the end. Referees were Shaukat Ali, Babar Khan, Ch. Sarfraz, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.
The win left Baloch Mujahid FC on 12 points from 6 games, while Gulshan Soccer remain without points after 4 games.
