Defending Champion Karachi Grammar School defeated Army Public School 3-0 in the Opening Match of 7th HBL Karachi United School Championship (KUSC) at Baloch Mujahid Football Stadium, Ibrahim Hydri here on Monday.
KGS midfielder Atif Sachak scored 2 goals (20’ & 59’) and Bruce Paul netted in the 23 minute.
In other matches of the day, Nixer College outclassed Foundation Public School 6-0 in Group ‘A’ and The City School PAF beat Beaconhouse Jubilee 2-0 in Group ‘B’.
For Nixor College’s Captain and star striker Karim Kerai scored first hat-trick of the event, he netted the ball 3 times (11’, 33’ & 52’) followed by three more goals from fellow strikers Usama Haleem 2 goals in the 23’ and 56’ while Humza Khan completed the tally in the 54 minute.
The two goals scored for The City School PAF were scored by Shabbir Rizvi in 12 min and Salman Shahid 59 min.
Referees were Babar Khan, Shoukat Ali, Farrukh Riaz, Mumtaz Baloch and Ch. Sarfraz while Abdul Commissioner was Match Commissioner.

Lyceum beat Commecs College 4-0. Lyceum strikers Mizyal Wahid (4th & 7th) minutes while Taha Rehman (12th & 50th) minute scored two goals each.
In another match, BVS Parsi High School defeated Beaconhouse PECHS 3-1. Captain Sarmad Jamil converted penalty kick in the 5th minute while two goals scored by Shoaib Akhtar in the 12th & 50th minutes for the winners. Ali Sajwal reduced the margin in the 56th minute.
Beaconhouse Gulshan thrilling win against St. Michael Convent School 2-1. Saad Farooq scored both goals for the winner in 22nd and 59th minute while Kendrik Ambrose lone goal in 26th minute for looser.
The last match of the day, St. Patrick High School held Aga Khan Higher Secondary School to a 0-0 draw. Both the teams share one point each.
