Islah Baloch shock Mauripur Baloch in KUFL

Khalil Ahmed ws the hero of the day as the scored both of Islah Baloch goals when the side caused on upset in the ongoing 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League (KUFL) 2011-12 by beating Runner’s up of last edition 2010-11 Mauripur Baloch 2-1 in Group ‘A’ at the Trans Lyari Stadium, Old Golimar here on Monday evening.

The match begin with frantic action as Islah Baloch attacking mentality clearly look Mauripur Baloch by surprise in the opening minutes. Islah Baloch took the lead as a 18th minute cross from the right winger Mohammad Asghar put into the back of the net by front runner Khalil Ahmed to give the home ground side a 1-0 lead. Sajjad Kaka of Mauripur Baloch leveled the score in 39th minute when converted a beautiful cross received from Adnan Sakhi.

The score line remained 1-1 at half time.

In the second half, the game opened up even further as a good crowd in the Trans Lyari Stadium witnessed and action packed tempo from both sides. But Islah Baloch were looking for the kill in 49th minute when Shazad Ahmed Beat two Mauripur Baloch players and tead up Khalil Ahmed to slam in his, and the Old Golomar side’s second goal as Islah Baloch looked set at 2-1. Mauripur Baloch bears a great loss when Referee Imam Bakish shown Red Card to Zohaib Qadir in 59 minute dueto serious fould play against opponent striker Khalil Ahmed.

The 1-2 deficit and short of one player clearly disheartened Mauripur Baloch but their strikers Sajjad Kaka, Adnan Sakhi, Sameer Samad and Salal Razzaq did attempt to level the score.

However, Islah Baloch goalie Mohammad Khalid denied the opposition any chance to score past him in the remaining minutes of the game as his side prevailed 2-1 at the end to record another three points.

The win helped Islah Baloch 7 points from 6 games while Mauripur Baloch 8 points in the same games. The match was supervised by Imam Bakhsh, Abdul Malik and Imran Ali with Abdul Karim as Match Commissioner.

Baloch Mujahid Ibrahim Hydri will face Al-Shabaz Korangi on 29.12.2011 at its own ground.
