The 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 saw a stunning Group ‘A’ clash between Islah Baloch (Old Golimar) and Usmanabad Union yesterday, 15 November 2011, at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi, Karachi. After a scoreless first half, the match exploded into life as 7 goals were scored in 2nd half as Islah Baloch stunned Usmanabad Union 4-3 at the end to record their first win of this KUFL campaign.
The match began at a cautious pace as both sides played defensive to avoid conceding early as the game was tied 0-0 at half time. However, the 2nd half was a completely different manner as Islah and Usmanabad went in hard at each other. Usmanabad Union went 1-0 up in 56th minute thanks to an Imtiaz Ahmed strike. However, Islah Baloch equalised in 64th minute thanks to a Shehzad Murad penalty kick. 6 minutes later, Islah Baloch took a 2-1 lead when Usmanabad captain Nasir Ali scored an own goal while trying to clear a shot from Islah’s Abdul Qadir.
However, Nasir Ali responded by making it 2-2 for Usmanabad Union in 80th minute from a 20 yard shot that went in. But in the next minute, Abdul Qadir punished Usmanabad’s defensive error as he robbed the left back of the ball and scored to make it 3-2 to Islah Baloch. But Nasir Ali again responded for his side as he scored from a beautiful free kick from 20 yards out in 90th minute to make it 3-3. Just when it seemed that the match would finish all-square, Islah Baloch struck again in dying seconds of injury time as Asghar Adil’s free kick beat Usmanabad goalkeeper Ibrahim from an almost-impossible angle to snatch the 3 points with a 4-3 win in the end.
Referees were Aziz Pasha, Wahid Hussain, Qari Tahir Neki, and match commissioner Saleem Arif. The stunning win helped Islah Baloch go to 4 points from 3 games, while Usmanabad Union remained on 0 after 2 games.
