Karachi United Football League 2011-12
The 9th Edition of the Karachi United Football League 2011-12 hosted by Karachi United FC and organized by the KU Football Foundation (KUFF) will commence on 24th October with the opening game between Irfan Memorial Landhi and Drigh Road Union at the Drigh Road Union Ground.
This season’s event is supported by UBL Omni and the opening match coincides with World Polio Day, in relation to which KUFF is working with UNICEF.
The 2011-12 season will once again feature 20 of the top Club teams of Karachi divided into two groups of ten playing each other on a single league basis, with the top four from each Group advancing to the Super League phase.

According to Mr. Riaz Ahmed, Organising Secretary Group A appears to be the tougher Group and features the likes of defending Champions, Baloch Youth Garden, last year’s runners-up, Mauripur Baluch, former Champions, Shazad Muhammadan Malir (2007-8 and 2008-9), Aga Khan Gymkhana, FC Rovers, Gulshan Soccer, Lyari powerhouse, Kalri Star, Burma Muhammadan, Frontier City and Usmanabad Union.
Hosts, Karachi United FC are joined in Group B by Baloch Mujahid, Drigh Road Union, Irfan Memorial, Qadri Sports, Baloch Muhammadan Malir, Al Shabaz Korangi, Muslim Star, Islah Baloch and Korangi Baloch Sharafi.
The six month event will see around 120 matches being played at various grounds in the city including Baloch Muhajid Stadium, Ibrahim Hyderi (Korangi), Drigh Road Union Ground (Shah Faisal Colony), KMC Stadium (Lyari), Jam XI (Malir), Aga Khan Gymkhana (Garden) and Korangi Baloch (Sharafi).
The Organizing Committee including the Chairman, Rahim Baksh Baloch (MEC, Sindh Football Association & Secretary DFA West- Karachi) and Organising Secretary Riaz Ahmed confirmed that Mr. Fateh Muhammad Baloch, Vice President of the Sindh Football Association and President DFA Malir would be the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Prize Money for the League is as follows:
Champions: Rs. 100,000; Runners-up : Rs. 50,000; Third Place: Rs.20,000; Most Valuable Player (MVP): Rs. 10,000;
Golden Boot (Highest Scorer): Rs. 10,000; Fair Play: Rs. 10,000; Best Referee: Rs. 5,000; Best Goalie: Rs. 5,000; Best
Coach: Rs. 5,000; Emerging Player: Rs. 5,000.
The Award for Best Referee will be voted by the participating teams.
KUFF Officials also announced that as with previous years, handsome cash prizes and match bonuses totalling around Rs. 500,000/- would also be distributed to the Champions, Runners-up, participating teams and top players/officials. Over the last eight editions of the League, Karachi United along with its partners have distributed over Rs. 11,000,000 to teams, team officials, players, match officials, groundsmen and others involved with football in the shape of participation / prize money, bonuses, awards, salaries etc to provide opportunities to those involved with football.
