The finalists of All-Karachi Korangi Baloch Football Challenge Cup 2011 were decided with the results of its two semi-finals at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi, Karachi. Tournament hosts Korangi Baloch beat Baloch Mohammadan (Malir) 1-0 after a tense contest, while Jam XI (Malir) beat Dilbod Mohammadan 4-3 on penalties in another exciting tie to set up their final clash on 29 July at 5 PM. The final will be attended by the Director of GETZ Pharma (Pvt) Ltd according to media coordinator Khalid Majeed.
The 1st semi between the hosts Korangi Baloch and Baloch Mohammadan was witnessed by a large crowd as both teams cancelled each other out for most of the game. However, Hafeez Baloch’s powerful shot in 82nd minute was enough for Korangi Baloch to seal the deal and reach the final. In 2nd semi, the crowd got treated to another scintilating contest as Dilbod Mohammadan took a 22nd minute lead through Allah Bakhsh. Jam XI finally managed to equalise in 85th minute through Mansoor Baloch as the game finished a tense 1-1, leading to a penalty shoot-out in which Jam XI prevailed 4-3. Referees were Ejaz Hussain, Iqrar Hussain, Imran Hussain, Saleem Raja, match commissioner Rafique Baloch.
The All-Karachi Founders of Baloch Mujahid Football Cup 2011 at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi saw the results of 6 games. Karachi Football League 2010-11 champions Baloch Youth Garden beat former KFL champions Chanesar Blue 4-3 in a pulsating contest to go through to the next round. Meraj scored thrice (4′,22′,49′) while Faisal Hussain (10′) scored once for the winners while Chanesar Blue’s all three goals were scored by captain Muhammad Abbas (39′,60′,67′).
Mauripur Baloch beat Baran Mohammadan (Sharafi) 3-2 on penalties after 1-1 draw in a very fortunate encounter after Mauripur’s captain Sameer had equalised in dying seconds of the game to take it penalties. Manghopir Star beat Pir Bakhsh Baloch (Sharafi) 2-0 thanks to goals from Alam Baloch (12′ penalty) and Sakhi Bakhsh (42′). Kalmat Welfare Centre (Malir) beat Mauripur Azad 4-3 on penalties after scoreless game. Janbaz FC (Malir) stunned District West Championship runners up Sindh Balochistan (Gulshan) 2-1. Sindh Balochistan had taken the lead in 39th minute through international Lal Muhammad Sr. but Farman Ali scored twice for Janbaz FC in 46th and 52nd minute to take his side through to next round.
