Defending champions Chanesar Blue maintained top spot in Group ‘A’ when they eased past Burma Mohammadan (Korangi) at Baloch Mujahid Stadium, Ibrahim Hyderi in 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11 on Friday 28 January 2011.
After a slow start to the game leading to a scoreless half-time, the 2nd half exploded into life when speedy striker Shaukat Ali gave Chanesar Blue the lead in 55th minute with his 5th goal of the campaign. Veteran midfielder Mehmood Lassi made it 2-0 for Chanesar in 63rd minute after beating 3 defenders from a brilliant run to score past Burma Mohdn goalie Muhammad Yousaf. In stoppage time, Fareed Alam made it 3-0 in 92nd minute when he scored from a cross as Chanesar earned 3 more points. During the game, Burma Mohammadan’s Muhammad Ishaq was sent off for a red card, and as a result was suspended for next 2 games by the KFL Technical Committee.
