KFL 2010-11: Chanesar Blue beat Malir Union, Baloch Mujahid held by Baloch Youth Garden

Defending champions Chanesar Blue eased past Malir Union 4-1 to earn their second victory of the 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11 Group ‘A’ campaign while venue hosts Baloch Mujahid were held by Baloch Youth Garden 1-1 at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. Chanesar Blue’s Shaukat Ali scored the event’s fourth hat-trick to be awarded man of the match by KFL organising secretary Riaz Ahmed while Baloch Mujahid captain Muhammad Nadeem earned the same honours as well. Kamal Shah scored one for Chanesar Blue while Abid Ali managed a late consolation for Malir Union. Umer Bakhsh scored for Baloch Mujahid while Tahir Jaffar Ali scored for Baloch Youth Garden.

Baloch Youth Garden are now on 7 points, Chanesar Blue on 6 points, Baloch Mujahid on 5 points, while Malir Union have 3 points. Respective match referees were Ibrar Hussain and Adnan Khan while assistants were Babar Khan and Farrukh Riaz, with match commissioner Abdul Karim (Member Central Zone).

After being tied 0-0 at half time, the dominant Chanesar Blue opened the goal flood gates under talisman Shaukat Ali as he opened the scoring in 58th minute from a Daniyal Mehmood cross while left winger Kamal Shah made it 2-0 in 61st minute. Shaukat Ali scored his second of the night in 77th min as he converted a cross from Kamal Shah into the net to make it 3-0. Malir Union managed to get a consolation in 86th minute from striker Abid Ali but Shaukat Ali completed his hat-trick a minute from time to end the match 4-1 in favour of Chanesar Blue.

The second match between Baloch Mujahid and Baloch Youth Garden, played under floodlights, was an even affair as both sides were held 1-1 at the end of the game. Venue hosts Baloch Mujahid went 0-1 down in only 4th minute when Baloch Youth Garden striker Tahir Jaffar Ali headed home a Salamuddin free-kick past Baloch Mujahid goalkeeper Shazad Ali. However the home side struck back when midfielder Umer Bakhsh scored from a cross by his captain Muhammad Nadeem to make it 1-1 in 21st minute. The remainder of the game saw both sides try their best for scoring the decisive winning goal but both sets of defenders and goalkeepers dealt with the threats as the game evened out 1-1 at the end.
