The 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11, organised by Karachi United FC, saw the results of 3 games on Thursday 27 January 2011. The two games held at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground, Garden West saw Baloch Youth Garden beat Shabaz Green (Banaras) 2-0 in Group ‘A’ while National Afridi (Baldia Town) beat hosts Aga Khan Gymkhana 1-0 in Group ‘B’. In the Group ‘B’ game held at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Sindh Balochistan and Gulshan-e-Ittehad (Korangi) played out a 1-1 draw.
After being 0-0 at half time, Aaqib Ayub (48′) and Sarmad Jaffar (64′) gave Baloch Youth Garden a decisive 2-0 lead against Shabaz Green as they gained 3 valuable points. National Afridi had Rahmat Ali to thank for his 39th minute goal against hosts Aga Khan Gymkhana as they held on for a narrow 1-0 win. Sindh Balochistan took an early lead through veteran former international striker Lal Muhammad (12′) against Gulshan-e-Ittehad in first half, but Muhammad Younus (66′) equalised in 2nd half as both sides fought out for a 1-1 draw.
Referees were Babar Khan, Umar Baloch, Abdul Malik, Farrukh Riaz, Riaz Baloch, and Muhammad Kamran, while match commissioners were Abdul Karim (Member Central Zone) and Saleem Arif.
The results leave Baloch Youth Garden in 3rd place with 11 points from 6 games and Shabaz Green in 9th with 6 points from 7 games in Group ‘A’, National Afridi (5th) and Aga Khan Gymkhana (4th) with both on 10 points from 6 games, Sindh Balochistan are 6th with 10 points from 7 games while Gulshan-e-Ittehad 8th with 5 points from 7 games in Group ‘B’ standings.
On Saturday (29.01.2011), Baloch Mujahid face Malir Union at 5 PM at their home turf.
