The two Group ‘B’ games at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground, Garden West on Sunday 23 January 2011 both produced drawn scorelines in 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11. Shazad Mohammadan (Malir) squandered a 2-0 lead to be held 2-2 by Kalri Star (Lyari) in a game that saw both teams go down to ten men for red card offences. In other game, venue hosts Aga Khan Gymkhana were held goal-less by Al-Shabaz Korangi.

On Monday, 24 January 2011, two more Group ‘B’ games held at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi saw Korangi Gymkhana beat Mauripur Baloch in a breath taking game 4-3 to earn their first win of KFL 2010-11. Salaar Welfare Centre (Malir) also saw its first when a 4 goal burst from Abdul Haleem inspired them to a 6-2 romp over Gulshan-e-Ittehad (Korangi).

The results leave Shazad Mohammadan 4th in Group ‘B’ with 10 points from 6 games, Kalri Star in 6th with 8 points from 4 games, Aga Khan Gymkhana 5th with 10 points from 5 games and Al-Shabaz in 2nd place with 11 points from 6 games. Salaar Welfare Centre move up to 8th place with 4 points from 5 games with Gulshan-e-Ittehad going down to 9th with 4 points from 6 games.

Adil Baloch (10′) and Noor Bakhsh (49′) gave former KFL champs Shazad Mohammadan a 2-0 win against Kalri Star in first game. However, Kalri Star fought back bravely as they sensationally tied the scores 2-2 with goals from Mubashir Baloch (73′) and Javed Ibrahim (penalty, 81′) late in the game. The game soon descended into chaos as both teams went down to 10 men in final moments as Shazad Mohammadan captain Sohail Baloch (85′) and Kalri Star’s Javed Ibrahim (87′) were sent off for red card offences by referee Saleem Faiz as the action-packed game ended 2-2 with both sides gaining 1 point each.

The Aga Khan Gymkhana vs Al-Shabaz Korangi game saw plenty of action from both sides, however poor finishing and miss-hit shots meant the game finished 0-0 after 90 minutes with both sides earning a point each.

Korangi Gymkhana stunned favourites Mauripur Baloch when Faizan Waheed (31′) and Abdul Maroof (34′) gave them a quick 2-0 lead which Sameer Samad (36′) reduced to 2-1 for Mauripur before half time. In 2nd half, the pace of the game remained high as Aneel Ansari (51′) and Abdul Maroof (58′) scored again to make it 4-1 for Korangi Gymkhana. But Sameer Jahangir (60′) and Naeem Ahmed (68′) quickly reduced the deficit to 4-3 for Mauripur Baloch as Korangi Gymkhana held on to record their first win of the KFL campaign.

Salaar Welfare Centre (Malir) stunned Gulshan-e-Ittehad (Korangi) a resounding 6-2 for their first win thanks to Abdul Hameed’s 4 goal hat-trick (20′, 29′, 49′, 79′) while Wasim Irfani (25′) and Mohammad Asif (66′) made it 6-0 for Salaar WC. Only two late goals by Muhammad Amir (85′) and Muhammad Ibrahim (92′) gave some consolation for Gulshan-e-Ittehad as they lost the one-sided game 6-2 to Salaar WC.
