St. Patrick’s High School qualify for KUSC 2010-11 quarter-finals

The 6th Karachi United School Championship 2010-11 saw two games being decided at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. St. Patrick’s High School earned a place in quarter-finals with their second successive victory in Group ‘C’ after beating Foundation Public School 6-2. In Group ‘D’, The City School PAF and Southshore School played out a 0-0 draw.

St. Pats players showed their class as they dominated the game from early on against FPS. Yousuf Baqar gave his side the lead from a superb Abbas Gohar pass in the 5th minute. In 30th minute the roles were switched as Abbas Gohar made it 2-0 from a Yousuf Baqar pass. St Pats captain Ahmed Ali made it 3-0 before half time in 32nd minute when his 25 yard shot found the back of the net.

In second half, Foundation Public School came out strongly as Daniyal Qayum’s 20 yard strike in 37th minute made it 3-1 while in 43rd minute a speculative 40 yard shot by Hamza Aftab caught St Pats goalie Waqar out of position to reduce the deficit to 3-2. However St Pats did not falter as they kept the pressure and scored 3 more goals through a second by Abbas Gohar, Umer bin Younus and Rafay Mahmud to end the game 6-2 in their favour.

Match referees were Babar Khan, Farrukh Riaz, Ch. Sarfraz, Riaz Baloch, while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (member Central Zone).
