Gharib Nawaz won the inaugural game of All-Dalmia Champions Football League after beating Green Mujahid 2-1 at Lal Sports Stadium in Dalmia, Karachi. Gharib Nawaz took 24th minute lead through striker Zubair Ahmed in first half. In second half Ali scored to make it 2-0 for Gharib Nawaz but Naveed scored consolation goal for Green Mujahid with the final score remaining 2-1. Match referees were Ghulam Abbas Baloch, match commissioner Naseer Hussain and media coordinator Khalid Majeed.
In second match, Green Mujahid were held goal-less 0-0 by hosts Lal Sports. According to chief organiser Abid Mehr, The All-Dalmia Champions Football League features 5 clubs from Dalmia area incl. hosts Lal Sports, Green Mujahid, Bashir XI and Dalmia Star. The teams will play an initial single round league phase with top 4 qualifying for semi-finals.

Usmanabad football founder Nako Abdul Latif passed away after a prolonged illness. He helped register Young Muhammadi FC with District South FA Karachi in 1963 to begin football in Usmanabad area of the city. He also helped in the construction of Usmanabad Stadium alongside late Yaseen Qureshi and Mushtaq Ahmed Rajput. Nako Abdul Latif was well-respected by the local football community including Usmanabad clubs Young Muhammadi, Young Usmanabad, Babar Sports, Abdus Salam Memorial, Usmanabad Union and Young Shaheen FC.
Thousands attended Nako Abdul Latif’s funeral held at Dhobi Ghat Graveyard in Lyari, Karachi. His soyem will be held on Friday (24 Dec) at Madina Masjid Usmanbad after Jummah prayers. Many football personalities like Mushtaq Ahmed Rajput (Patron, Usmanabad Union FC), M. Younus (Young Usmanabad captain), Ustad Shamror, M. Shahid (Young Muhammadi captain), international Muhammad Qasim (NBP), football journalist Riaz Ahmed, Abdul Karim, Khalid Majeed etc paid their condolences to the late Nako Abdul Lateef’s family.
