The Karachi United Foundation has initiated the Karachi United Youth Football League that will involve U16 youth teams from Defence, Lyari, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Malir, and Korangi centres that will play on home and away basis from 5th November onwards in Karachi. The six centre teams will play a combined total of 30 matches in league round, with the top 4 teams qualifying for the semi-finals and final. The best team of the league round will be declared league champions, while the winner of the final will be declared the ‘Top 4’ champions.
The tournament will begin with a game between North Nazimabad centre and North Karachi centre at National Soccer
Academy Ground in Paposhnagar with a 4:30 PM evening kick off. According to veteran football journalist and league administrator Riaz Ahmed, Defence centre will face Lyari centre at Baloch Mujahid Stadium, Haideri on 6th November while Malir centre will face Korangi centre at Jam Stadium, Malir on 7th November.
The Karachi United Foundation has arranged this tournament and provided all the players of the six participating centres with full kits as well as appointed professional coaches to help groom and utilise their talents in this competition by providing them basic as well as latest tips and techniques in order to make them better players as they grow. The foundation’s main aim is to help bring all these young promising players from various Karachi districts into the national limelight so that they can then show their worth in nationwide and well worldwide competitions in the future.
North Nazimabad centre will play its home games at National Soccer Academy Ground in Paposhnagar, North Karachi centre at Hassan Masna Alvi Ground in Sector 11-B North Karachi, Defence Centre at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Haideri, Korangi centre at KMC Stadium, Malir centre at Jam Stadium in Malir, while Lyari Centre play home games at Sindh Baloch Ground in Lyari.
