“Gilgit Youth Football School Championship” under the auspicious of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) in Gilgit Baltistan is being held from 26th September to 3rd October, 2011 at City Park Football Ground, Gilgit. Eight Teams of Government High Schools of Gilgit Baltistan are taking part in this tournament. Gilgit Baltistan Football Association is the local host of the event.
According to the press release issued here by PFF, This is a special joint initiative of PFF and Australian Government for the promotion of football on regional basis in Pakistan which reflects the vision of the President PFF Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat that such projects will help in exploring young football playing talent in far flung areas of Pakistan. The General Secretary PFF, Col. ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi has expressed deep gratitude in this respect to Mr. Peter Bartlett, First Secretary Political, Australian High Commission Islamabad for his special efforts to bring this project in Pakistan.
The detail of participating teams is as follow: Basin River of Government High School Basin, Snow Leopards of Government High School No-1 Gilgit, Rakha Poshi of Government High School Danyor, Dobani Peak of Government High School Oshkhandas, Kashrote Wadi of Government High School Kashmore, Gem of Government High School Aliabad, Ibex of Government High School Amphary and Markhore of Government High School No.2, Gilgit.
